Unlikely Frenemies!!

Squidward and his rival Squilliam Fancyson are on a hiking expedition challenge, high up in the mountains, quarreling back and forth like they always did while also trying to keep up with their group at the same time. Though Squidward couldn't really remember what had led him to this point, hiking along side the one person he despised the most in Bikini Bottom, his feet begun to hurt but Squidward pressed on, not letting Squilliam take any notice of just how worn out he was. The grumpy octopus didn't feel up to being laughed at by his rival, but what ever he did notice led up to him taunting Squidward, During one of their usual little squabbles, Squilliam suddenly slips on some ice and fell which made Squidward stop in his tracks instantly, this also caused him to get left behind since the cephalopod had gone back for his archrival, he peers over the ledge where he had slipped. But couldn't find him. "Squilllllllllllllliam!!!!" Shaking, Squidward leans over abit more. Then, the small voice of his old rival, called over the echoing. Finally, Squidward caught sight of him. Squilliam clung desperately onto small chips of frozen stones, and Squidward could tell that he was struggling to keep his grip. "Squidward...Help Me!" The millionaire gazed up at Squidward, his eyes were filled with hopelessness.

Squidward shared the same feeling as he briefly glanced up, only to see that they were completely alone now. "Please, Squidward!" Squidward's attention when then brought back to Squilliam, who was beginning to lose his grip. At this point, despite their longtime rivalry, Squidward reached out for Squilliam. The unibrowed octopus was trembling, panting heavily, while he held on for dear life. "Squill, Reach For Me!" Slowly beginning to lose his grip, waves of sweat stream down his frightened face while he reaches for Squidward. "Just...Just A Little Further!" Squidward encourages him as the stones were crumbling away, their tentacles only an inch apart when Squilliam suddenly slips. Luckily, Squidward was able to snatch him just as he fell, and the wealthy octopus gripped Squidward tightly. "I..I've-Got You!" Squilliam breathes heavily as he glanced down, then back up at Squidward. His eyes wide with fear. Squilliam couldn't hide just the amount of terror he felt, Squidward could tell. "Please...Squiddy don't...don't let go!"

"Don't...don't worry Squill...I won't!" Then summoning all his strength, Squidward strains as he begins to pull him up, with the octopus slipping everynow and then. Squilliam would scream or cry out, fearing that he would lose his grip on him. After what took about, four minutes, the cephalopod finally manages to pull Squilliam back to safety where they simply collapsed in the snow panting. Eventually, both Squidward and Squilliam glance at one another and smile. "Squid-..." Squilliam sighs deeply. -..."Th..Thank You!" Squidward shrugged. "It..It was nothing-..."

"Nothing?" Abit surprised, Squilliam pulls himself up. "Nothing? Squidward you saved me life! That's not just...nothing!" Sitting himself up now, Squidward slightly turns his head. "Ye...yes well, I'm sure you've done the samething." Dusting off the snow, the two cephalopods then stood up, slowly. "We...well I..I owe you one Squiddy." Squilliam said as he placed his hand on Squidward's shoulder. "Yeah, well...just be more careful next time!" Squidward scolds him as he chuckled, then both him and Squidward shook hands, while also sharing a good laugh before they realized that they have been left behind.


Silently they continued on, following the trail of footprints that had been left in the snow, in hopes of finding their group since a blizzard was suppose to come. Although neither of them could believe they would've just left them behind, and not even stopped when Squilliam clearly was in trouble, which made him glad that he had tricked his rival into coming in the first place. Unfortunately they have lost the trail and get caught in the blizzard with Squidward becoming to weak to carry on that he just collapses. And realizing that he was no longer by his side, Squilliam turned back and tries to get Squidward back on his feet. "Come on Squiddy! Get Up!" Squidward's only response was his body shivering as a strong wind blew. "You can't quit now!" The wealthy cephalopod said as he begins shivering to. "I..I can't..to..to cold!" Squidward's teeth were chattering, and icicles start to form as he lay in the snow shivering. "Squil we...need...need shelter!"

"Squid-..." The cold winds begin to increase, to the point were they become pale, Squilliam soon realized that Squidward was right, they couldn't carry on through this weather. They needed to find anykind of shelter, overwise they were gonna freeze to death, his unibrow was already forming icicles. In the mist of the storm, Squilliam caught sight of a cave nearby and pulled Squidward up while draping one arm over his shoulder. "Come...come on Squid...we can make it!" He wasn't sure if Squidward knew what was going on, but the octopus struggled to stay on his feet, with Squilliam dragging him most of the way as his breathing was slowing, when finally reaching the cave Squidward passes out. Huddling in the far back, Squilliam lays his rival down and did a quick check on him, relieved that he was still alive. Though with nothing to keep them warm, he wondered just how long they both could last. As large amounts of snow begins to cover the mouth of the cave.
